Understanding why we decorate with ornaments:
The word Ornament appears throughout the bible many times in the old and new testament, Exodus, Judges, Proverbs, Peter etc...
An ornament is an object or feature intended to beautify the appearance of that which it is added to. It is an embellishment a decoration and adornment, a person or thing that adds to glory... to adorn is to dress and set apart, to extol, (a bride adorns herself).
Proverbs 1:9 states they shall be an ornament of grace for thy head (speaking of the law) also Proverbs 4:19 states she shall give thy head an ornament of grace a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
The purpose of an ornament is to make something more appealing, more acceptable. God himself adorned the earth, the sky with stars, the flowers, the fish, seas and trees. He told adam in the garden, (Gen 2:15) to dress the garden and keep it... Dress is another word for adorning and embellishing, it means to cloth elegantly, to decorate, to trim, to supply with accessories, to deck, to make more appealing in appearance.
Glorify God in all that you do...
Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven.
